Sonali Kolhatkar’s TEDx Talk: My Journey From Astrophysicist to Radio Host or How I Found Meaning In My Life

Will living a life of meaning make us happier? Probably not! And that is okay. Give me life, liberty, and the pursuit of meaning.

Sonali Kolhatkar is the host and Executive Producer of Uprising, a daily drive-time radio program produced at KPFK Pacifica in Los Angeles, and a columnist at Truthdig.com.

She is also the co-Director of the Afghan Women’s Mission, a non-profit organization that works in solidarity with Afghan women.

She is the author of Bleeding Afghanistan: Washington, Warlords, and the Propaganda of Silence. Sonali has a Masters Degree in Astrophysics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Ms Kolhatkar has turned from science to sociology; no longer marveling at the infinitude of stars she focuses on an infinitude of victims. The women in Afghanistan being brutalized deserve our support and compassion; illegal immigrants violating our laws do not. Kolhatkar has a keen eye for unearned privilege; she should spot ‘immigrant rights’ as a grotesque example of it.
