Before we turn to an analysis of the national electoral scene, we’ll look at voting problems on election day. Early reports streamed in yesterday of instances of Tea Party activists challenging people on their way to cast votes. In fact, there are reports of Tea Party groups organizing and holding training sessions on how best to challenge voters. There were even instructional videos posted on website showing how it’s done. Voter fraud is so negligible that a 2007 study by the Brennan Center for Justice found that “an American is more likely to get struck by lightening than impersonate another voter at the polls.”
