The former member of the Beatles was pronounced dead on arrival after sustaining four gun shot wounds just outside of his home in New York. Chapman\u2019s actions robbed the music world of one of its most influential artists whose humanist anthems included, \u201cWorking Class Hero,\u201d \u201cImagine,\u201d and \u201cGive Peace a Chance.\u201d In addition to his songs, Lennon used his standing as a popular musician to advance social causes he believed in. He spoke out against the Vietnam War and criticized President Nixon. Tricky Dick responded by issuing a deportation order for the British born Lennon.
