The court overturned a Federal Communications Commission\u2019s ruling against Comcast Corporation. Comcast had been required by the FCC to offer equal treatment to all Internet traffic flowing through its network. The original sanction came in 2008 when the FCC found that Comcast had blocked users from accessing BitTorrent technology used in file-sharing. Comcast lied about the practice when confronted by the FCC. The nation\u2019s largest high-speed internet provider had also planned to cripple online video sites competing with its own on-demand service.
