Cohn traveled the country listening to the stories of people struggling with health care. In a tiny village in the Catskills mountains, a man whose job stopped providing health insurance watched his wife die of cancer. In a booming suburb outside Austin, Texas, a mother battled with an insurance company to get therapy for her disabled son. And in the middle of prairie heartland, a retiree sold his house to help pay for the medications that keep him and his wife alive. It&#8217;s a story that&#8217;s becoming all too familiar and all too typical in the US, the only country in the industrialized world that does not guarantee health care for its citizens.
