{"id":18574,"date":"2011-02-01T10:30:19","date_gmt":"2011-02-01T17:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/uprisingradio.org\/home\/?p=18574"},"modified":"2011-02-01T10:40:01","modified_gmt":"2011-02-01T17:40:01","slug":"jordans-king-dismisses-government-appoints-new-pm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uprisingradio.org\/home\/2011\/02\/01\/jordans-king-dismisses-government-appoints-new-pm\/","title":{"rendered":"CNN: Jordan&#8217;s king dismisses government, appoints new PM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The king of Jordan dismissed his government Tuesday and appointed a new prime minister with orders to implement political reform.<\/p>\n<p>The dismissal follows several protests calling for change in Jordan &#8212; protests that echo demonstrations that have swept across North Africa and the Middle East in the last few weeks.<\/p>\n<p>King Abdullah II asked Marouf Al Bakhit to form a government in Jordan that will implement &#8220;genuine political reform,&#8221; the Royal Court said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The government will &#8220;take practical steps, quick and concrete, to launch a process of genuine political reform&#8221; and &#8220;comprehensive development,&#8221; according to a letter from the king to Al Bakhit.
