\"KateDocuments released yesterday by the White House Ronald Reagan Library reveal some opinions of Supreme Court nominee Judge Samuel Alito that opponents of his nomination are sure to find troubling. Among those documents released, The Washington Times, obtained and first reported that in 1985 Samuel Alito wrote that, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The constitution does not protect a right to an abortion,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and that such was something that he personally believed very strongly in. Years later, in 1992, Alito voted in the case of Casey vs. Planned Parenthood to uphold a Pennsylvania law that required women to notify their husbands prior to having an abortion. On the ruling, Alito then said that such a provision was not an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153undue burden.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d These opinions expressed in the released memos and documents are sure to be among the questions raised when confirmation hearings begin in January.<\/p>\n
