Earlier this year, the Administration sent letters to employers whose records indicate an error between social security numbers and names \u2013 a judge temporarily halted the government from continuing to do so, and employers who received the \u201cno match\u201d letters are not currently required to take any action. However, that could all change depending on the outcome today&#8217;s hearing \u2013 and employers might be forced to fire workers who social security records are not fixed within 90 days.
