On April 6th, Beck&#8217;s news website The Blaze, announced that he would be parting ways with Fox by the end of the year. However, it is unlikely to be the end of Beck&#8217;s relationship with Fox: Beck&#8217;s production company, Mercury Radio Arts, has apparently struck a deal with Fox to &#8220;develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News\u2019 digital properties.&#8221; There are also reports that a senior Fox executive, Joel Cheatwood, is leaving Fox to join Mercury Radio Arts. Additionally Beck is apparently considering taking over an entire cable channel or at least part of one on his own. It is unclear how Mr. Beck would attract advertisers for any new endeavors after a boycott that was started when he called President Obama a racist with a &#8220;deep-seated hatred of white people.&#8221; The relationship between Beck and Fox has often been strained as other news personalities and executives have had to defend Beck&#8217;s wild and often baseless allegations about President Obama, the Democratic Party, and the American left in general. <\/p>\n<p><em>GUEST: Eric Boehlert, Senior Fellows at Media Matters<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With his falling ratings and skittish advertisers, Fox News darling Glenn Beck&#8217;s tenure finally seems to be up.
