Among the many major award categories are numerous progressive films in contention. In the Best Picture category, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Good Night and Good Luck,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Crash,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Brokeback Mountain,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d are all nominated for the night\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s highest award. In the foreign film category, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Paradise Now,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a film that explores the internal struggles of two men recruited to be suicide bombers, is the first Palestinian production to have ever been nominated for an Academy Award. The Best Documentary category features selections such as \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Darwin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Nightmare,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a harrowing look at the effects of globalization in the African nation of Tanzania. On Uprising, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve interviewed the Academy Award nominated directors of both \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Paradise Now,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Darwin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Nightmare,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d like to bring you excerpts of those interviews.
