Written and performed by Meera Simhan, this one-woman play chronicles the formative years of a second generation South Asian girl. Directed by Shishir Kurup, \u201cMiss India America 2008,\u201d takes the audience through a search for identity and authenticity caught between traditional cultural values and the white world of suburbia. The tragicomic performance, told with wit and humor, deals with issues such as sexuality, the beauty pageant world, and immigration. Ultimately, Simhan\u2019s character in the play must travel abroad in her voyage towards understanding her own womanhood.
