Tickets will be available at the door for $12 each, first come, first served. CASH OR CHECK ONLY. Doors open at 5:30 pm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PARKING<\/strong>: Parking will be available at the UTLA parking structure across the street from the church, on Berendo and Wilshire, for $3. Exact change is appreciated. Limited street parking is also available. <\/p>\n<p><strong>TICKETS THROUGH KPFK FUNDDRIVE<\/strong>: If you donated to KPFK&#8217;s funddrive for Gabor Mate tickets, your name will be at Will Call. <\/p>\n<p><strong>BOOKS<\/strong>: There will be limited numbers of Gabor Mate\u2019s books for sale at the event. People can bring their own copies of his books for him to sign at the end. <\/p>\n<p><strong>AUDIO\/VIDEO RECORDING<\/strong>: The entire talk will be audio and video recorded and be available during the next funddrive in December. <\/p>\n<p>All proceeds to benefit KPFK. <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Gabor Mate is the best-selling author of 4 books, including In The Realm of Hungry Ghosts: Close Encounters With Addiction. Based in Canada, Dr. Mat\u00e9 ran a popular family practice in East Vancouver for two decades.  For seven years he also served as Medical Co-ordinator of the Palliative Care Unit at Vancouver Hospital, caring for the terminally ill.   More recently he worked for twelve years in Vancouver\u2019s notorious Downtown Eastside neighbourhood with patients suffering from hardcore drug addiction, mental illness and HIV. In 2009 Dr. Mat\u00e9 received an Outstanding Alumnus Award from Simon Fraser University, and has recently been appointed Adjunct Professor in SFU\u2019s School of Criminology.
