Nearly 100,000 Amerasian children were born to U.S. soldiers during the course of the Vietnam War. In the book, Yarborough explores the personal stories of five such Amerasians who came to the United States under the Amerasian Homecoming Act. Under the Act, some 30,000 Amerasians came to the United States between the years of 1988-1994. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Surviving Twice,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d highlights their obstacles as children of mixed parentage in Vietnam society as well as the difficulties they faced when they eventually came to the United States.
