The film has been hailed by many critics as one of the most \u00e2\u20ac\u0153intelligent\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and \u00e2\u20ac\u0153provocative\u00e2\u20ac\u009d looks at race relations in recent film history. The Mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio Villaraigosa, even noted that \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Crash,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d could be helpful for the city\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s diverse residents to see their commonalities and move beyond prejudice. However, not all critics agree with the positive assessments of the film.
