Living in her world of fantasy fueled by the sights and sounds of the West side sixties, Evangeline\u2019s dreams clash with her family\u2019s expectations after her father\u2019s death. <\/p>\n<p>The play is set within the context of the historic 1968 student walkouts, a series of protests that were aimed at abolishing discriminatory practices towards Chicanos in schools. Evangeline is co-written by Theresa Chavez, Rose Portillo, and Los Lobos song writer, Louie Perez.
