A recent Quinnipac survey conducted in key swing states show Barack Obama and John McCain desperately vying for votes in Ohio, Florida and Michigan. These poll numbers within the two party system that dominates our elections have many independent voters leery of casting a vote in line with their conscience at the ballot box. Voters to the left of Barack Obama\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s stated policies may still cast their votes for him out of fear of a McCain presidency and vice versa. Currently without important electoral reforms such as instant run-off voting, the idea of a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153vote pact\u00e2\u20ac\u009d could be the answer.
