As voters cast their ballots today around the country, about 1 in 4, or 45 million voters will be entering their vote on an electronic machine which will not create a paper ballot. Electronic voting will be used exclusively in Delaware, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey and South Carolina and some machines will also be used in the swing states of Ohio, Florida and Colorado. With the problematic history of electronic voting machines in past elections, analysts are extremely wary of potential tampering and inadvertent errors. A federal lawsuit was filed yesterday by Bob Fitrakis, the editor of FreePress.org, alleging that untested software was installed on voting machines in Ohio in violation of State law. <\/p>\n
