Victor Serge is a little known Russian Revolutionary whose political activism and prolific writings are being seen in a new light today. <\/p>\nThe Bolshevist leader joined Russia\u2019s communist party after the 1917 revolution and went on to join the so-called Left Opposition. <\/p>\n
Ever vigilant of the abuse of power, Serge became one of Stalin\u2019s strongest critics, and faced years of jail sentences and publisher boycotts. <\/p>\n
But he persisted in speaking out and recording his ideas as an historian and a writer. He spent the last few years of his life in Mexico, where a trove of unpublished works reside. <\/p>\n
It was there that KPFK programmer and the author of Serge\u2019s definitive biography met with his family members and accessed much of his work. Suzi Weissman wrote Victor Serge: A Political Biography in 2001. <\/p>\n
Now, the book\u2019s second edition is out at a time when interest in Victor Serge\u2019s work is seeing a major resurgence. <\/p>\n
