Senator Bill Frist, realizing that the idea wasn&#8217;t too sound, admitted, &#8220;The issue &#8230; doesn&#8217;t seem to have the support that had been anticipated.&#8221; According to The Washington Post, President Bush &#8220;renewed his call for Congress to give him the authority to \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcraise&#8217; mileage standards for all passenger cars.&#8221; However, the President has rarely been concerned with Congressional authority in general.
