Nader became known as the nation&#8217;s leading consumer advocate. His fight for auto safety regulations pushed car manufacturers to include basic safety features like seat belts, and eventually led to the creation of a government agency, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). <\/p>\n<p>Decades later NHTSA is under scrutiny as car manufacturer General Motors is accused of negligence for failing to replace faulty ignition switches causing the deaths of at least 13 people. <\/p>\n<p>Today, Nader continues to speak out on consumer safety issues and corporate malfeasance.<\/p>\n<p><em>GUEST: Ralph Nader, long time consumer advocate, author of the forthcoming book Unstoppable: The Emerging Left-Right Alliance to Dismantle the Corporate State, is due out on April 29th.
