Workers are demanding $15 an hour in wages and the right to unionize. <\/p>\n<p>Those who gathered in front of a McDonald&#8217;s in Times Square, New York were the first to be arrested yesterday morning. Organizers are reporting that 52 people were arrested in Kansas City while blocking an intersection, 50 were arrested in Chicago, 42 in Detroit, 23 in Durham, 11 in Little Rock, and 10 in Las Vegas. Other low-wage workers like home-care workers also joined in solidarity yesterday and were among those who walked out. <\/p>\n<p>In California, Oakland saw 14 people arrested early in the morning after blocking the intersection of Broadway and 14th.
