Locally, listeners might recall when Black republican Ted Hayes and members of the Minuteman Project gathered together at Leimert Park in South Los Angeles for an anti-immigration rally. It was there that Minuteman co-founder James Gilchrist actively courted members of the black community to his anti-immigration cause by stating, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153If we are going to be giving preference to anybody\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6preference should go to the American-African community that has suffered more than anybody.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d The small crowd of Minuteman supporters at the rally was outnumbered by a spontaneous counter-demonstration of African Americans and Latinos calling for black and brown unity. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GUEST: Dr. Kevin R.
