Set in the 1970s in El Paso, Texas, near the border with Mexico, Lydia is the name of a young undocumented maid/nanny hired by a working class Mexican-American family to care for their disabled 15 year old daughter Ceci. But she is much more than a care-taker – in fact Lydia is whatever each of the family members want her to be and ends up unraveling their darkest secrets. The New York Times reviewed the play favorably, calling it “seductive and strong.”

GUEST: Octavio Solis, playwright

Lydia is showing through May 17th at the Mark Taper Forum, at the Music Center in downtown Los Angeles, 135 N.
