First published seventy years ago, Steinbeck\u2019s story chronicled the migration of the fictional Joad family from Oklahoma to California. Set in the \u201cDust Bowl\u201d era of the Great Depression, \u201cThe Grapes of Wrath,\u201d portrayed the plight of \u201cOkies\u201d looking for work and searching for hope in California\u2019s Central Valley only to find the exploitation of harsh labor conditions instead.
