Kalpona Akter is the Executive Director of the Bangladesh Center for Worker Solidarity. She currently has several criminal charges filed against her for her labor activism.

During her time in Los Angeles for the 2013 AFL-CIO convention, Uprising host Sonali Kolhatkar interviewed her about working conditions in Bangladesh’s garment factories.
