Nobody PassesGUEST: Mattilda a.k.a. Matt Bernstein Sycamore, writer, activist, and editor of Nobody Passes: Rejecting the Rules of Gender and Conformity

Twenty seven authors and activists have contributed essays to a new anthology called “Nobody Passes: Rejecting the Rules of Gender and Conformity.” The anthology is edited by writer and activist, Mattilda a.k.a. Matt Bernstein Sycamore. The essays discuss the intersections of identity, categorization, and community in order to challenge the notion of “belonging.” Topics include immigration, appropriation, activism, hip-hop, disability culture and transgender communities. Contributors to Nobody Passes include Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, Irina Contreras, Nikki Lee Diamond, Jen Cross and others.

There will be a reading of Nobody Passes in Los Angeles on Friday, February 9 @ 7:30 p.m. at Skylight Books, 1818 N. Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90027.     I’d really like to listen to the interview with Matt Bernstein Sycamore. It’s too bad it doesn’t seem to have been included in the weekly digest podcast.
