Step it up 2007GUEST: May Boeve, organizer with Step It Up 2007

Last week a UN sanctioned panel on Climate Change sent a strong message about the inevitable effects of human activity leading to increased temperatures and an ominous outlook for the planet’s future. The panel’s conclusion confirms a long-held consensus in the scientific community about the reality of global warming. Meanwhile, activists all across the US are taking action in the absence of federal government action. April 14th has been declared a National Day of Climate Action and hundreds of rallies are expected to be held in cities across the nation on that day demanding that Congress take steps to cut carbon emissions 80% by the year 2050. There are currently 574 actions being planned in 47 states. The campaign is named Step It Up 2007.
