Maywood Police Department Accused of Brutality and Abuse

The City of Maywood’s police department has come under increasing criticism in recent months. Community members and organizations, such as Padres Unidos de Maywood, have accused the department of corruption, brutality and abuse. A recent Los Angeles Times investigation revealed that at least a third of Maywood’s 37 member police force had been hired despite having questionable past records which included terminations from other agencies for misconduct and brushes with the law. Following the investigative report, interim police chief, Richard Lyons, who himself has a criminal background, promised police reforms. Among the officers hired by the Maywood Police Department are Frank Garcia, who was charged with drunk driving and firing his weapon negligently. Among the allegations of police abuse is the case of a Maywood police officer impregnating a 15 year old teenager who rode along with patrols as a police explorer. Community members and lawyers have filed numerous lawsuits against the city. The Maywood Police Department is also being currently investigated by the FBI, the California attorney general, and the LA County district attorney.

Maywwood Police are taking advantage all over. The police department are using city vehicles for their own personal use. . Please look into it. Who is paying for the wear and tear. We the people. They even have a gas card. Investigate it.
I think its pretty simple mi gente. Pay your tags, get a license and insurance. Then pay attention to what your punk kids are wearing. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to know your kid is a dangerous gang member. I believe most of MPD cops are legit hardworking people. I cant say the same for my neighbors. I live on 57th. And I see crazy stuff everyday. I dont think I could do their job. Its awful considering what kind of element we have in Maywood. I live within the law, and have never feared MPD. I have called on them and they come out every time. Dispatchers call back and check on my family afterwards. Im proud of those guys. Especially now. Amidst all this neg stuff out there. Lets work with our PD and make it better. And say thank u once in a while. That guy with the badge may have to take a bullet for you some day…Just my thoughts.

I have experiance the maywood police behavier first hand, when my brother and I where assalted by several of their officeres, with no resone, with no excuse, and at that with no explanations. Devestating our lives and relationship with family, friends, and most important between our selves. To ended it of we didn’t even live in their city. I will NOT give my respect to law enforcement ever again, doesn’t matter if it’s a “goodcop”or a “badcop” This cops do more damage than they do good. HOW CAN YOU THANK OR LET YOUR TAX DOLLARS PAY FOR SOMETHING OR SOMEONE LIKE THAT?

My opinion is this…. although I am not in law enforcement, I have done work with law enforcement agencies, and have seen and heard it all in terms of crimes in our city. I am a parent, who pays taxes, and cares a great deal about the enviroment I raise my children in. I think we should not judge the whole police department for the wrong doings of some isolated police officers. I know that there have been incidents where officers go over the line, but with that being said I do also know that there are a lot of good cops out there trying to do what’s best for the community. The growing problem in our city that parents are not taking responsibility for their children. If you see your child running with a group of kids and seem to be a bad group, then thhat nmeans they are. Why would you approve your child dressing like a ganster and running the streets, not going to school? Who’s fault it that? The police departments? Over 50 percent of all crime, in Los Angeles is conducted by Hispanics, and 50 percent of that number are illegals. So parents accept some responsibility for your children, and not blame others for why your kid is getting harrassed by the cops. If they’re doing what they should be doing and not dressing like gangsters then nine times out of ten they won’t be harassed. Parents are coupable for the actions of their children, and children are not a product of their enviroment, but a product of their parents…. Often times people are quick to blame everyone else and just want, and take what they can get without contributing anything…. So as the members in the city have a group called Padres of Maywood Unidos, they should also have a group that advocates other important issues, not just a mob who are determined to bash the officers….

Ok Dr. Jive, you won’t give respect to any cop ever again. There are good and bad in every element of society, good cops, bad cops, good mexicanos band mexicanos, good whites bad whites, etc.. I think you got the picture. Although I am a chicano, it pisses me off to see a border brother pissing in the street when I am walking with my kids, what kind of crap is that?, or the couple of guys who get out of the bar and crash their car with no insurance?, but if everyone had the same attitude as you do, ALL MEXICANS, born in Mexico or Chicanos would all be categorized as suzio borrachos and that aint the case here, I am sure that you are a normal person that don’t do any of the crap I just mentioned but how would you like it if some white dude looked at you and said, all you Mexicans are the same crap! well IT AIN’T TRUE! and not all cops are bad either, although I am sure there are plenty that are not perfect, there are plenty who do their job to help let us live in a place where we don’t have to worry about getting our shit ripped off all of the time or getting messed with when you just want to walk to the store with your kids or your girlfriend or something.
Watch the Culver City Police Department! I know of a person that was shaked down for $1000.00 and a camera. The person was a turist that made the simple mistake of driving thru Culver City. He was told that he would be let go if he gave up the money. His camera was never returned! Please everyone, don’t forget about the abuses of Culver City Police Department.

I have trouble deciding if i want to make this public or not. Check this out people my cousin is serving time right now for skipping bail in a previous charge for sales of narcotics. Recently he was arrested by the L.A county Sheriff’s dept. (Lynwood) station….at the time he had two bed rooms full of 5 lbs bundles of marijuana and on a trash bin full of marijuana he estimates it was in the humdred thousands of dollars, including 4 lbs of crystal-meth, sixty thousand dollars in cash. All my cousing was booked for was for skipping bail a few yrs ago. The female sergent who cordinated the arrest at 6 a.m in the morning in South Gate, was telling my cousin he was stupid for having that kind of money in the house while she stuffed it into her vest. No badges , no names, all they did was to bring a U-haul truck to the sceene and took the marijuana and never charged my cousing with sales of narcotics. Instead the LACS dept. stole the drugs from him and god knows what happened to they drugs or the money. So now u guys tell me, should i report this to the FBI or would it make a difference. I personally think that the FBI is just another agengy and will cover up for the LACS. Tell me what i should do in this case. Even if i have to sacrifice my cousins life in prison for a longer time, but i think we need to fight back agains the police dept.
oh and by the way, my sister is and her husband are high ranking officer in Las Vegas PD. They are also wondering if this should be reported to the FBI. Although they don’t know the people involved they feel this should be reported, tell us why or why not.
The culver city police department set Fox Nutrition up on false law suit to give their insurance policy to a Sargent for a gift. They tried to get the owner on criminal charges for a product….they never carried. When the Sargent’s found out that Fox Nutrition never carried the product …after they left a paper trail, they switched the name of the product to a product that Fox Nutrition carried. The owner, Lori was warned to keep her mouth shut, followed and warned that her was in danger if she said anything. Lori released the information all over the internet. …The Sargent’s wife confesses before Lori at Fox Nutrition was on a 21 day trial. The judge disallowed Gina Hagen’s deposition. The guys , before the trial saw that Lori was bald from brain surgery and told her that Mark Hagen was running on his day off. The then Sargent Harvey Bailey, ( see utube)-who got insurance money after his wife was murdered on New Year’s eve signed a police report that Mark was at work when he took thermo green tea mutated -dimedadrine extreme.
– The judge told Lori to keep her mouth shut or she would not let her defend herself…..Mark’s wife eventually married John teits, and Mark hagen gets the insurance policy. All the depositions have been circulated to the different justice departments throughout the United States. Lori has since had cancer and is recovering. She lost a business of 20 years and her livelihood. Under the RICO LAW, THESE GUYS CAN BE TRIED AND CONVICTED OF RACKETEERING. 3 OF THE CRITERIA IS HEIRARCHY, INTIMIDATION AND FRAUD. It’s said that at the time Chief Cook was running a private security business out of the Culver City police department and that Harvey Bailey was answering the phones while the chief was out of town. Does anyone know why Chief cook resigned early ???? A person was killed while in the custody of Chief Cook , Omar Coralles and others. From what was on the internet in a legal section, these guys were sued for $500,000. Not much for a life. And what was their association with black water???????
I wished I could report a recent MAYWOOD POLICE Incident I would call it POLICE BRUTALITY.. one month ago incident. I was arrested on the weekend and this person name JUAN MIGUEL SANCHEZ… was brought in for argueing with his girfriend. Juan had been shot a few month ago and had respiratory issues and he had to be taken to the hospital before he was brought to jail after the arrest. TWO OFFICERS from the MAYWOOD POLICE DEPARTMENT… after taking him to the hospital.. they pull over an ALLEY and they BEAT UP Juan M. Sanchez. When he entered the cell he was bleeding from his ears and was all bruised up. HE TOLD me the police officers were ONE HISPANIC and a WHITE officer did all this to him but he did not know their names or BADGE #’s. ANYBODY KNOW where I can take this issue to.? THIS is INSANE what the MAYWOOD POLICE DEPT is doing and they have been under investigation for a while now.

back then police explorers were able to go to the academy way early they were able to go in when they were 18 due to curruption and help by maywood police department officers but overall half of the explorers that were in the academy when they went in when they were 18 are no longer officers or just quit due to investigation by fbi or failure to comply with fbi agents…..
