Fernando Suarez del SolarGUEST: Fernando Suarez Del Solar, whose son Jesus was the first Marine to be killed in Iraq.

On March 12th, in the Spirit of Gandhi’s “Salt March,” Fernando Suarez del Solar, Pablo Paredes, Camilo Mejia, Aidan Delgado and other Latino activists opposed to the war in Iraq embarked on a 241 mile March for Peace. The March for Peace highlights the fact that Latinos make up 11% of the U.S. military and were 20% of the deaths during the early months of the invasion. In a symbolic gesture of peace without borders, the march began in Tijuana, Mexico and will continue on its way to San Francisco with stops this week in Orange County, Long Beach and Los Angeles. Joining us on the line is one of the leaders of the March for Peace Fernando Suarez del Solar.
