High School Students take Immigration to LA School Board
GUEST: Miguel Lopez, 16 year old student at Garfield High School and organizer with InnerCity Struggle
This evening hundreds of students and their parents plan to converge at the school board offices of the Los Angeles Unified School District. They represent community based organizations such as InnerCity Struggle and Community Coalition. The students and parents will be rallying against HR4437. They are demanding that the Los Angeles School Board take a stand against the proposed legislation by adopting a resolution banning its enforcement from all Los Angeles schools. The resolution would, in effect, make schools safe zones for children.
Students and parents will gather at 5pm at the LA School Board at 333 S. Beaudry Avenue.
