The 12th annual March for Zapata will take place this Sunday April 9th. Paying homage to General Emiliano Zapata, a hero of the Mexican Revolution of 1910, this year’s march and event will be in opposition to HR4437 and anti-immigrant groups such as the Minutemen and Save Our State. The march will begin at 9 a.m on the corner of Cesar Chavez Avenue & Lorena in East Los Angeles and will end at Mexico Park in Lincoln Heights. Following the march, the event at Mexico Park will feature speakers and musicians starting at 1 p.m. Joining us on the line is march organizer Rocio Watson, a representative of Frente Unidos de los Pueblos Americanos or FUPA and co-founder of Children for Chiapas.
