CITTAC in Danger of Closing
GUEST: Enrique Davalos, member of CITTAC, Kathy Laura, student at Glendale Community College, member of Association of Latin American Students.
The Workers Information Center, or CITTAC as it’s known by its Spanish acronym, is a non-governmental organization based in Tijuana, Mexico. Being based on the borderlands, CITTAC publicly supports the efforts of workers struggles, especially in the maquiladora industry. The group aims to help workers in organizing in a democratic and autonomous manner. Unfortunately, however, CITTAC is on the brink of closure due to a lack of funds. In solidarity, the Association of Latin American Students at Glendale Community College will be holding a fundraiser to help CITTAC keep its doors open.
For more information about CITTAC, visit www.cittac.org.
The fund raiser for CITTAC will be at Glendale Community College on Saturday May 27th from 5:30-8 pm at the Vaquero Plaza. For more information, email alas_gcc@yahoo.com.
