Will LA City Council Support Three Strikes Reform?

FACTSGUEST: Geri Silva, Families to Amend California’s Three Strikes

On January 10th of this year, Families to Amend California’s Three Strikes (FACTS) wrote to all 15 members of the Los Angeles City Council. They asked the council members to reflect the will of their constituents and pass a resolution in support of Three Strikes reform. Since that time, FACTS has followed up by making hundreds of phone calls and writing letters to council members. In addition, over 20 families of three strikers spoke before the Los Angeles City Council. Later, another group of ten Striker families testified before a council committee. After waiting several months, the resolution has yet to pass. FACTS has decided it’s time to go back to city council and ask them once more to reflect the will of their constituency.

For more information, visit www.facts1.com, or call 213-746-4844.

FACTS will be gathering at the LA City Council on Tuesday, July 25th at 9:00 am in the open area in front of the 1st Street side of City Hall.

All day parking is available on Los Angeles St between 2nd and 3rd $4.00, and all day parking available on Main St between 2nd and 3rd $5.00.
