Vajra Sky Over TibetGUEST: John Bush, Producer and Director of Vajra Sky over Tibet

Last week, a French parliamentary delegation met with Chinese government authorities over the future of Tibet. The President of the French Senate Commission on Tibet, expressed concerns over the destruction of traditional Tibetan buildings and found Chinese officials to be evasive over questions about exiled spiritual Tibetan leader, the Dalai Lama. Meanwhile, in the same week, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao expressed gratitude in Beijing to Nepali Prime Minister Sharma Oli during an official visit over Nepal’s continued support for China’s government over the issue of Tibet. Tibet has been under occupation by the Chinese government since 1959. Here in the US, a new documentary on the subject of China’s continued occupation of Tibet and threats to the endangered Tibetan culture is set to open this Friday in Los Angeles and Pasadena. Directed by John Bush, “Vajra Sky Over Tibet,” chronicles the spiritual and political stories of the occupied region. It is one of the few documentaries to be filmed entirely inside Tibet and has been blessed by the Dalai Lama.
