GUESTS: Aura Bogado, KPFK Training Coordinator, Akeem, Massiel, and Mercedes, students at New Jefferson Continuation High School
Ten students from New Jefferson Continuation High School in Downtown Los Angeles participated in KPFK’s new youth training program called Voices of Tomorrow. The 8 week long program, funded by a grant from the California Technology Foundation, has centered on media literacy, along with a strong focus on using new, digital technologies to tell their own stories. KPFK’s Aura Bogado is the training coordinator. She joined us in studio along with three of the students, Akeem, Massiel, and Mercedes, to tell us about the program and to share some of the students’ audio projects with us.
