Students and Artists SWARM Together for Art/Media Project

In a project designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ArtScene Visual Radio (AVR), a hundred high school students have been collaborating with teachers and artists, in particular women artists in Los Angeles to produce research and online multi-media. The project is called SWARM, and high school students from Fairfax and Culver City will present their work at the Los Angeles Art Awards ArtScene anniversary event held at the LA County Museum of Art on April 18th. The women being interviewed and researched including some of LA’s most celebrated artists, including Joni Mitchell, Lita Albuquerque, Judy Baca, and Ruth Weisberg.
The 2007 Los Angeles Art Awards is an evening celebrating Southern California art and ArtScene’s 25th anniversary. “ArtScene: 25” features original performance art projects, a special panel discussion, a superb sit down dining experience, and the first presentation of the Henry Hopkins Awards.
