GUEST: Jesus A. Reyes, Director with East LA Rep

East LA Rep, a group dedicated to promoting the essential role of Latino theater to the American stage, put out a call for works from prominent playwrights. Many responded, offering pieces that never been produced in Los Angeles. Over the next four weekends, 14 contemporary playwrights, ranging from Cherrie Moraga to Culture Clash, will offer one-acts, short plays and monologues – highlighting a variety of stories and styles. The playwrights and East LA Rep work to shape and transform the theater landscape and re-define “Latino plays”. The series, “Anthology Vol. 1” continues through the 21st of October at El Gallo Plaza Theatre in East L.A.
