In many countries around the world, including China, Cuba, Russia, and Vietnam, International Women’s Day is an official holiday. Here in the US, American women in Chicago revived the annual celebration in 1968. Across the country, women are organizing large and small events. Right here in Southern California there are a large number of events over the weekend, some of which we’ll be listing shortly.

In the mean time, we spend the rest of the hour today, taking a look at the state of women’s rights globally and locally with a round-table of five impressive women.
