Saint Paddy’s All-Star Improv Revue
| the entire program
GUESTS: Brian DeShazor, Director of the Pacifica Radio Archives, Patrick Bristow, actor and director of the Saint Paddy’s All Star Improv Revue
This upcoming Saint Patrick’s Day, the Pacifica Radio Archives is inviting you to a one night only improv benefit show. A cast of talented actors will be on hand to support the preservation of the Archives’ Irish audiotape collection. An estimated 50,000 audiotapes of historic material are currently in the vault. However, master reel-to-reel recordings are deteriorating and could be lost forever. The valuable collection in danger includes audiotapes such as the first public radio broadcast of James Joyce’s “Ulysses.” Other recordings detail the Irish and Irish-American experience through a range of subjects from history and politics to music and literature. The Saint Paddy’s All-Star Improv Revue takes place at the Groundlings Theater and will be directed by Patrick Bristow. Perhaps best known for his supporting role on the successful television show “Ellen,” Bristow will also be performing alongside special guests such as Mindy Sterling, Karen Maruyama, and Jeremy Rowley.
Saint Paddy’s All-Star Improv Revue is a one-night-only evening of improv benefiting the Pacifica Radio Archives’ Irish audiotape collection.
The cast will include Michael McDonald (Mad TV), Mike Hitchcock (Best in Show), Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers), Karen Maruyama (Whose Line is it Anyway?), Ted Michaels (And God Spoke), Jeremy Rowley (Reno 911), and others. The show will be directed by Patrick Bristow. Refreshments will be served.
Tickets are $25 and can be reserved at 323-934-4747 or visit www.groundlings.com/boxoffice.
The event will be on Saint Patrick’s Day, Monday March 17th, 8 pm at the Groundlings Theater, 7307 Melrose Avenue.
