Making Radio History: Uprising Live Broadcast of Same-Sex Wedding
On May 15th this year, the California Supreme Court made an historic decision by voting to overturn the state’s ban on same-sex marriage. A few days after the Supreme Court decision, we invited a couple to marry live on the air to underscore this victory being celebrated by LGBT communities across the nation. 
On Friday June 20th from 8-9 am, join KPFK Pacifica Radio to witness broadcast history as Linda Martinez and Regina Rodriguez tie the knot live from the courtyard of the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center. Uprising will air this broadcast live on KPFK from 8-9 am. Rev. Neil Thomas, of the Metropolitan Community Church of Los Angeles, will preside over the ceremony. Press are invited to attend.
