Media Circus Over Jesse Jackson’s Comments

| the entire program

Jesse JacksonThe story of how Jesse Jackson privately lashed out at Barack Obama before a live interview on Fox News has quickly turned into a media circus. Jackson’s original comments were in response to Obama’s Father’s Day speech aimed at black fathers who fail their families and particularly children. Instead of asking the question of whether Jackson’s critique was justified, mainstream media has instead focused almost entirely on two issues: speculation that Jesse Jackson lashed out at Barack Obama because the former presidential candidate is experiencing intense jealousy, and Jesse Jackson’s use of the N-word even though he had called for a moratorium on the use of the word after stand up comic Michael Richards used it on stage. Jackson has issued two apologies to Barack Obama’s family in response to the overwhelming news coverage.

GUEST: Mel Reeves, long time journalist and activist. His article about this issue on blackagendareport.com is entitled: Rev. Jackson’s Not Down for the Count, Yet
