McCain Tries to Squelch Troopergate Investigation
| the entire program
Less than two months before the Presidential election, Vice Presidential nominee Alaska Governor Sarah Palin faces an ethics investigation into her role in firing her state’s Public Safety Commissioner. Walt Monegan says he was terminated because he rebuffed intense pressure from the governor and her aides to dismiss Mike Wooten, a state trooper who was involved in a messy custody battle with Palin’s sister. The scandal has come to be known as “Troopergate,” and, while Palin initially agreed to fully cooperate with an investigation into it, she has now backtracked on that pledge. Meanwhile, the McCain campaign is working furiously to defuse the investigation – an action that is itself questionable in terms of ethics. The McCain-Palin ticket has claimed that Palin’s record as governor of Alaska proves her willingness to take on government corruption. “Troopergate” threatens to derail that claim.

I hope the voters take a long hard look at this. Palin is no different than McCain and Bush. If the press had not suppressed the truth about Bush’s military record he may not have been appointed to the White House in 2000.
We have lived for 8 years with lies, and now we have the same kind of situation with Palin and McCain…a coverup….reporters are being threatened by the McCain thugs…sound familiar, Tom Delay and Rove, cira, Florida 2000, angry mob stopped the recount…..these thugs are now in Alaska to cover up for Palin.. She is not capable of holding office. The press must stop this and print and report the truth
WE NEED CHANGE AND PALIN AND MCCAIN JUST DON’T GET IT
This is just a cover up before it gets started. I feel that if they can coverup this prior what will they try to coverup after the Republicans get into office. She stated she believes in a transparent government then why should that change just because it involves her.
McCain’s model has changed to” time for a change”, where did he get that from, sounds like he doesn’t have a thought of his own. I totally agree that Palin is not and will not be ready and able to take the office of Vice President, definitely not President.
Remember the economy is still fundamental strong even though it is on the verge of depression and that was when he had to think on his own.
This coverup attempt speaks volumes not only about Sarah Palin but also John McCain. This is the latest example that shows the depths that McCain will stoop to in order to win the election. It also shows that Palin does indeed have something damaging to hide. She is proving to be just like Nixon, Bush II, and McCain, only in a skirt.
If McCain wants to make this election in any way a referendum on moral character, he would fail miserably. This is something that should give anyone pause, particularly anyone who wants to vote McCain-Palin into office.
As far as I am concerned, this only increases the urgency of voting to ensure that this team never gets anywhere near the White House!
