Walt Disney at HUAC by Subversive Historian Gabriel San Roman
Sixty-one years ago on this day in people’s history, Walt Disney testified before the House Un-American Activities Committee. On October 24th, 1947, the famous animator, film producer, and founder of Disneyland participated in the investigations into alleged communist infiltration into Hollywood. In his examination by chief investigator Robert Stripling, Disney testified that his former animators Herbert Sorrel, David Hilberman, and William Pomerance were all communist agitators in his estimation. Six years prior, Sorrel and his Conference of Studio Unions organization had led a strike against Disney which was supported by the Screen Cartoonist Guild. Disney went on to agree that communism was a threat to the motion picture industry and when asked on how to fight the ‘menace’ he replied, “We must keep the American labor unions clean.”
It seems that Mickey and Minnie weren’t the only rats living in Disneyland!
For Uprising, this is your truth professa’ saying it’s no mystery why they conceal our history!
