The Columbine Mine Massacre by Subversive Historian Gabriel San Roman

Eighty-one years ago on this day in people’s history, the Columbine Mine Massacre occurred in Colorado. On November 21st, 1927, striking miners were met with the gunfire of state police leaving six laborers dead. Hundreds of workers had gathered on that fateful morning in an effort to join the statewide strike called by the Industrial Workers of the World. After weeks of picketing, the confrontation soon began near the mines of Serene, Colorado just fifteen miles north of Denver. The state police, dressed in civilian clothes and heavily armed, tried to fortify a gated entrance of the town, but the strikers decided to rush and overwhelm it. The ensuing bloodshed highlighted the tensions of the industry at the time as the state police fired into the crowd of workers, their wives and children.

As for redressing the violence, the Governor of Colorado did nothing of the like as he absolved the state police forces of all wrong doing and blamed the miners. Surprise, surprise…
