Eric Drooker
President Andrew Johnson’s X-mas Gift by Subversive Historian Gabriel San Roman

Exactly one-hundred and forty years ago on this day in people’s history, President Andrew Johnson gave a Christmas gift to supporters of the Confederacy. On December 25th, 1868, with the powers of his office, President Johnson granted unconditional amnesty to soldiers who fought for the Confederate south during the Civil War. As one of the last significant acts of his embattled presidency, the move was unpopular with Northerners who had considered the Confederacy traitorous. With the Christmas Day pardon, President Johnson, who was soon to be succeeded by Ulysses S. Grant, cemented his administration’s antagonistic policies towards post-civil war reconstruction. Prominent Historian Eric Foner referred to the President who came to power following Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, as a “racist,” and Johnson’s actions of rapid restoration including his blanket amnesty most certainly attest to that.

In his actions, President Johnson must have been dreaming of a white supremacist Christmas, just like the ones he used to know…

For Uprising, this is your truth professa’ saying it’s no mystery why they conceal our history!
