Celebrating Twenty Years of Preserving Political Graphics
With more than 70,000 political posters and prints in it’s collection, the LA-based Center for the Study of Political Graphics proudly claims to have the largest repository of Post World War II graphics in the country. From mass-produced protest signs to limited-edition silk-screens, from well known artists to anonymous activists, political posters are a crucial part of the tapestry of activism. Capturing the vivid imagery of various political eras, the Center has preserved a visual history of progressive politics and this weekend it celebrates 20 years since it’s founding.
