Activists Prepare for Copenhagen
This morning, activists continue to pour into Copenhagen, Denmark in preparation for the Climate Conference which takes place from December 6th to the 18th. Many of them will urge government leaders to agree to reduce the concentration of carbon in the atmosphere to below 350 parts per million. Currently, the carbon concentration is 385 ppm, and global warming is accelerating faster than previous scientific models suggested. Ten years after the WTO protests now known as the Battle of Seattle, activists in Copenhagen are focused on equating environmental justice with human rights. We turn to Green Peace to find out what’s going on in Copenhagen and here in the US.
