morono kiangAll across Southern California there are cultural events taking place this week and through the rest of the year in celebration of Mexico’s Bicentennial Independence in 1810 and the Mexican Revolution in 1910. Here in Los Angeles we highlight one exhibit entitled Chewbacca to Zapata: Revisiting the Myth of the Mexican Revolution, opening next week at the Morono-Kiang Gallery. The multi-media exhibit is curated by my guests Pilar Perez and Marcus Kuiland-Nazario and features over a dozen artists from both sides of the US-Mexico border. There is also an evening of performance and a panel discussion later in the year accompanying the exhibit.
