FSRNWhile Indymedia helped pioneer independent media in the forms we know today, Pacifica Radio was a pioneer of publicly funded radio at a time when that model was unheard of. Out of Pacifica came many innovative ways to make media, including Free Speech Radio News, a collective of independent reporters from around the world that puts together a daily 30 minute news broadcast airing on this station and many dozens of other stations around the US. As is the case with so many non-profit entities, FSRN is today facing a crisis that threatens its very existence, and currently only has enough funds to operate through the end of this month. I spoke yesterday with Nathan Moore, the General Administrator of FSRN about how things got to this point, what FSRN fans can do, and what lies in the future.
