Will the Real Terrorist Please Stand Up?
In 1998, the US arrested 5 Cuban citizens sent by the Castro government to unearth anti-Castro and anti-Cuba violence. The Cuban 5, as they came to be known, were convicted of espionage and conspiracy to commit murder, leading to prison sentences ranging from 15 years to 2 consecutive life sentences. A new documentary, Will the Real Terrorist Please Stand Up?, weighs the convictions of the Cuban 5, against the crimes of anti-Castro Cubans, and examines the historical context that motivated all parties.
On July 26, 2011, Uprising host Sonali Kolhatkar interviewed the film’s director, Saul Landau, about the film.
